Unfavourable weather conditions (such as rain, dirt, dust) reduce solar power output PV modules by up to 40-50% and decrease the lifespan of panels. Furthermore, prolonged exposure to high temperatures can lead to a decrease in the efficiency and potential damage over time; hence, as the temperature rises, the efficiency of solar panels typically decreases. Our solar panel coatings (liquid) are easily applied on the top of the solar panels to provide protection and increase energy productivity. We have already developed and preliminary tested a prototype of the hydrophobic nano-coating which shows an improvement in the electrical productivity of solar modules by up to 5% and we plan to improve it to reach higher results. Nevertheless, taking into consideration the cost of maintenance with and without coating, this number can rise up to 50%.
