The Arrecife wave-power system delivers power by exploding waves, capturing at least twice as much power for the same size wave in contrast to other technologies, such as buoys, that ride the wave. The Arrecife system’s secret is that it opposes the wave on the surface, like coral reefs, and is stabilized by its weight. It can generate as much power as necessary because it is modular, maximizing the efficiency and energy generated. With the buoy technology, smaller devices are destroyed by large waves and larger buoys are destabilized by their weight, resulting in an inefficient energy production. The Arrecife system was designed automatically submerge when large waves appear; thus, it continues producing energy
