About

PiQuant’s vision is to enable anyone to check the purity of the substances they use and ingest and also, empower manufacturers to test efficiently the quality of the products they make. PiQuant has developed innovative technologies to reduce the size and the price of the spectrometer, a precise device that has been used for decades to analyze components. A spectrometer is a device that analyzes how things reflect or absorb light. As humans have different fingerprints, matters have different spectrum data. For example, we can differentiate the colors of different objects depending on how much they absorb and reflect light. The specificity of the absorbance and reflectance of each component will allow the device to detect and analyze it at its molecular level, whether it is solid, liquid and also gas. Even NASA uses it to analyze the components on the Mars exploration project! With its unique technologies, PiQuant has developed a mini-spectrometer that can be used by anyone without prior training. Using this “one solution - multi-use” technology, PiQuant desires to provide solutions to the areas in need. One application of our solution is the Water Scanner, a portable water quality analyzer that will be distributed worldwide to fight against global water problems. We are working in collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and UNICEF. It is currently being tested by the Government of India and also the Korean Water Resources Agency. Another application is for analyzing air quality in real-time. PiQuant’s solutions for air quality monitoring are currently installed in governmental buildings in Seoul City, metro stations in Busan City and also in factories in Vietnam.
