Financing mechanism for social entrepreneurship in service of low-income customers in developing and emerging countries

The Swiss Bluetec Bridge was launched in November 2012. It strives to accelerate sustainable access to water and sanitation for local residents – especially the poorest in society – in rural areas and in small towns in developing and emerging economies, by providing them with advanced Swiss technology and innovation. We offer financing and encouragement to Swiss-based start-ups, SME and social entrepreneurs at the early stage of their journeys. At the end of the process, entrepreneurs who have succeeded in the field get recognised and promoted through the Swiss Bluetec Bridge label and network. The Swiss Bluetec Bridge is one among many initiatives supported by the Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development. It is part of the Swiss effort to contribute towards reaching the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6). The initiative is managed by www.strategos.ch, a boutique consulting firm specialised in strategy and management based in Lausanne, Switzerland.
