The Rainmaker Enterprise
Uses solar energy to access and manage water for safe consumption and sustainable agriculture in hard-to-reach places, starting in South Sudan.
In regions hard hit by conflict and climate change, remote communities are challenged by extreme hunger, poverty and resource-driven conflicts. Solar-powered water pumping and sensor-driven drip irrigation allow for high value crops to be grown locally all year round, supporting society’s most vulnerable and mitigating conflicts over scarce resources. Our holistic model is co-designed and co-managed with communities to build lasting solutions through training and employment focusing on women and youth, improved production and connection to market. Peace, prosperity and environmental security in Africa begin with efficient water management.
We are an award-winning organization founded in Canada by a former South Sudanese refugee to build lasting solutions to the interconnected challenges of extreme hunger, poverty, conflict and climate change.
Our unique position allows us to combine the power of clean technology with local knowledge to build resilience and restore dignity in hard-to-reach places.
