To reach the climate targets by 2050 we need to install 6 TW of wind energy in the next three decades. This will be only feasible if we access the enormous wind resources at higher altitudes and off-shore in deep water. TwingTec’s energy drone overcomes limitations of wind turbines by using a tethered wing to harness wind power. Without the need for a tower and foundation, Wind Energy 2.0 can be easily deployed, can operate at higher elevations and can be installed off-shore on floating platforms. As a result, Wind Energy 2.0 enables two times higher capacity factors at half of the current energy production costs with off-shore an almost unlimited resource potential.

TwingTec’s business is to substitute fossil fuels by wind energy saving costs and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The initial target market is the off-grid market, where power is produced with diesel generators at high costs in remote communities, mines and on islands. The first product, a 100 kW system integrated in a 20ft container, saves 100’000 litres of diesel and 240 tons of CO2 per year and is payed-off in 2-5 years.
