In the race to become carbon neutral, one place where we need to seriously reduce our carbon emissions is our home. From the materials we choose, to the efficiency of our appliances, from the size and insulation of our houses to the amount and type of fuel we use… Every choice we make in our homes has an impact on the environment.
This is why we have teamed up with Adeo, the global home improvement leader, to find solutions which support the transition to positive homes for everyone. A positive home is a place which respects the needs of our planet, as well as those of its occupants. It is efficient, adaptable, comfortable and uses few resources.
The POSITIVE HOME CHALLENGE aims at supporting all selected initiatives either to accelerate their development or to foster their commercialisation through the Adeo stores and websites, which include brands such as Leroy Merlin and Weldom. Interested innovators can join by submitting their application before April 30th 2021.
Adeo and the Solar Impulse Foundation are looking for solutions in one or more of the following categories:
- Eco-design
- Core Housing
- Energy Savings & Efficiency
- New Construction Materials
- Ease the Water Savings
- Ease the Circular Economy & Waste Valorisation
- Alternative to plastic packaging
This initiative from a world leader in the DIY market sends a strong positive signal to thousands of retailers, suppliers and customers that we need to change the way we build, maintain and renovate our homes. And more generally, the way we live.
