The company's main focus is on producing and commercialising Proton. Proton is a single cell protein nutritionally optimised for animal feed, produced from CO2 and with a carbon footprint reduced by 90% compared to conventional protein ingredients used in the feed industry (soy or fishmeal). By partnering with industries that generate biogenic CO2, Deep Branch can add further value to existing sustainable technologies. As Drax's power station is carbon neutral, Deep Branch has the ability to produce cost-effective and emission-free proteins with a scalable and future-proof strategy.
The Environmental Benefits
- •The carbon footprint of Proton is 0.2 kg CO2e/kg, which is 90% less than conventional animal feed proteins such as soy (3.1) and fishmeal (2.3)
- •Help to reduce exhaustive fishmeal and soy production which leads to overfishing and deforestation respectively.

- •Per 100,000 tonnes of CO2, the CO2-to-protein provides scope for creating over $85M dollars revenue per year
