A repairable electric battery that uses solder-less design to reduce CO2 footprint of e-bikes
Non-replaceable batteries are bad news for the environment and consumers. Most batteries in today’s products cannot be easily removed, replaced, or repaired. 80% of cells in a classical lithium-ion battery found in the trash are functional. The global demand capacity for batteries is projected to increase in the next decade: up to 60% for batteries in consumer electronics and 15% for LEV (Light electric vehicles) by 2030. Gouach is producing in France a battery for LEV that is repairable in less than 10 minutes, as reliable and powerful as the market leaders, but eco-friendly. The solution uses a solder-less design so that the battery electronics and cells can be changed easily, with no risk and without damage to the cells. This allows for an increase in the battery longevity and a substantial reduction of the battery's CO2 footprint. Gouach aims at providing a sustainable, repairable, and eco-friendly battery for fleet sharing, delivery fleet, and electric vehicles manufacturers
