Solid Waste is one of the most and immediate serious environmental problem. Recycling organic waste material (bio-waste) is still fairly limited. We as Junky Bins started a unique project in recycling the organic waste. The Black Soldier Fly deals with organic waste that we collect daily from households, hotels and institutions. It involves the approach of bio-waste conversion by insect larvae, using the Black Soldier Fly (BSF). This idea leads to the promising opportunities of using the harvested BSF larvae as a source of protein for poultry, Pig and Fish feeds. From the residue we produce, Organic Manure and Organic Fertilizer are obtained. The Black Soldier Fly (BSF) Project is a sustainable and cheap alternative protein source for animal feeds in Kenya.
