CCm's technology converts captured CO2 and other waste streams (such as Ammonia and Phosphate) into stable value-added materials with multiple uses across global priority sectors of agriculture, wastewater treatment (sewage), food production, and waste. The technology produces sustainable fertiliser in a net-zero process and provides many health benefits to the soil when applied to land. The fertiliser can be applied at a 20% reduced application rate and still achieves equivalent yield as conventional fertilisers.

The Environmental Benefits

  • The process creates high value materials from low/negative value inputs: CCm harvests energy from within its own operations because its patented process is strongly exothermic
  • Exploits existing waste/resources and does not require government subsidies for commercial sustainability
  • 50 CCm standard units could result in emissions avoidance equivalent to removing around 375,000 cars from the road each year (with a capacity of 10,000 tonnes of fertiliser each)
  • Low carbon footprint fertiliser compared to current conventional petro-chemically derived products (at least 90% less)
  • Reduces leaching and volatilisation by up to 80%, compared to conventional fertiliser, which reduces eutrophication to waterways and increases the amount of nutrients available for plants
  • Utilises organic waste material within their process, which allows reduced amounts of minerals from being used. This enables carbon emissions to be avoided, reducing the emissions into atmosphere

The Financial Benefits

  • Base level payback will be 4.7 years but expected optimisation will bring that down, compared to the cost of the reference solution, CCm's solution will generate economic returns in excess of 15-18%
  • For a standard 10KT CCUS Zero Carbon Fertiliser plant CCm achieves a 12-18% IRR, this has been validated in detail during due diligence carried out by PepsiCo (2020), not including Carbon certificates
