SolarinBlue is a pioneering French company specializing in floating offshore solar power. It aims to mitigate land-use competition by transitioning solar photovoltaics offshore, integrating solar and wind energy in hybrid farms. The robust floating solar technology is ready for extreme offshore conditions, including waves exceeding 10 meters and winds up to 200 km/h, with minimal ecological impact and a lifespan of over 30 years. High air gap and high buoyancy preserve solar panels and maximize their durability and production. In Sète, SolarinBlue launched the first floating offshore solar farm in the Mediterranean Sea. The installation, named Sun’Sète, proved offshore solar produces up to +6% more than rooftop PV installation, because of the use of bifacial panels and the benefits of the cooling effect on modules performance. In early 2024, SolarinBlue embarked on expanding the Sun’Sète project into Mega Sète, a 1MW floating solar farm scheduled for completion by 2025.
