A process enabling a circular economy for plastic with virgin-like recycled resin using a dissolution technology
Our approach involves harnessing plastic waste, especially the highly contaminated, to fabricate recycled plastic akin to virgin. Our technology employs a low-energy and water-free process using an essential oil, cymene, to dissolve plastics, followed by purification to remove impurities. The obtained recycled resin exhibits identical physical and chemical attributes as virgin plastics, enabling its application in the production of goods intended for the same purposes as those created from virgin resin. Not only do we use plastic wastes that have no other solution than landfills or burning, but our technology achieves a remarkable reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90%. Unlike the conventional linear paradigm of making, using, and discarding plastic, our cutting-edge recycling engenders a circular economy for plastics. This transformative model establishes an unbroken cycle of plastic reuse, fostering sustainability and effectively addressing the plastic pollution challenge
