Kyanos focuses on developing a renewable, sustainable and disruptive micro-algae (AFA) based protein production inspired by natural ecosystems. We use the symbiosis of microorganisms to improve production yields, traceability and minimize contamination. Thanks to our patented technology, our method does not require arable land, nitrogen fertilizers, excessive water or antibiotics or pesticides. We are the first company in the world to produce and commercialize AFA microalgae, which we believe, is going to be one of the most promising candidates to feature in our daily meals.

The Environmental Benefits

  • Cyclotrophy allow surface compacity: 20 times more compact
  • Cyclotrophy Increase factor vs autotrophy : 20x (in g/m2/d)
  • AFA has more than 60% protein content (meat has only 26%)
  • Our solution does not need of nitrogen fertilizers (which are the first producers of nitrogen protoxide - 300 times worse than CO2 in terms of greenhouse gas emissions)
  • Circular-economy logic with the reuse of external inputs (carbons sources) coming from other industries
  • Compared to beef meat, AFA allow 99,7% reduction in land use
  • 92% reduction of greenhouse gases emissions compared to beef meat production

The Financial Benefits

  • Production cost divided by 5 in cyclotrophy compared to autotrophy
  • Positive externalities compared to animal protein production, leading to an indirect economic impact
  • Does not require refrigerated storage
