UseDem gives materials a chance to live again. By reusing and reshaping old jeans, UseDem fights the textile industry’s pollution. It sources used jeans from individuals, brands and event discarded jeans or fabric from factories and then upcycle them into unique, beautiful and marketable products. Bags and accessories are made in partnership with Home Sweet Home, who operate their factory on the outskirts of Shanghai. They are also a not-for profit organisation which provides training and employment for Chinese people with special needs or disabilities. By bringing new life to old materials, this solution is helping to reduce waste and emissions.

The Environmental Benefits

  • Saves 3,780 litres of water by reusing old materials instead of new ones
  • Saves 33 kg of CO2 emission during its life cycle

The Financial Benefits

  • By using inventory for the new production, customer saves about 30% of the cost after upcycling
