Identification

The solution aims at providing access to secure and affordable drinking water to as many people as possible in emerging countries. The deployment of the solution is based on a network of entrepreneurs who adopt our franchise model. The solution includes a water kiosk as well as a water brand. The water kiosk is equipped with water treatment units and IT services which were developed and produced by Swiss Fresh Water SA. The model has unfolded since 2012 in the first pilot country, Senegal, where a subsidiary company, West Africa Water SA, was created in 2019 in order to locally operate and assist the franchisee network.

The environmental benefits

  • Capacity of safe water production up to 6'000L a day per kiosk
  • Almost 100% of machines installed on the field since 2012 are still up and running to this day
  • When switched to solar energy, a kiosk producing 3'000L a day can save up to 1.4 tons of CO2 a year
  • A new customer switching to Diam'O Water from mineral allow a saving of 40,5kg of plastic a year
