The production of energy from renewable fuels is now a strategic priority and part of a major energy transition program for several Caribbean countries. Today, most of these countries suffer big energy issues such as unreliable fuel supply, fuel dependency resulting in common electricity shortages. At the moment, the majority of the sugar mills are inefficient, meaning that their energy consumption is extremely high, while they could be a source of power generation for national grids. The Green Sugar solution is targeting the heart of the sugar industry process, the cogeneration biomass thermal installations. The direct result of the optimization is ample clean energy that can be used for production needs and sold as clean energy to national electricity grids. The sugar mills get concrete results and return on investment within a known repayment period while reducing their environmental footprint.
