Sign upA natural solution to reduce chemical fertilizer use in the world
Geolife Programs for Chemical-Free Agriculture by Bioma SA implemented by Farm Bangerter in Gampelen (Switzerland) in 2018
The three test fertilization programmes demonstrated a clear and statistically significant improvement in crop production, achieving increases ranging from 12.5% (equivalent to 45 tonnes per hectare) to 15% (equivalent to 46 tonnes per hectare) when compared with results obtained using conventional fertilization methods. These findings highlight the effectiveness of the test programmes in enhancing agricultural productivity, offering a promising alternative to traditional fertilization techniques.

A natural solution to reduce chemical fertilizer use in the world
In a 1999 PNAS article, Charles Frink noted that -The increase in fertiliser use associated with increased food consumption has been described as exponential and has raised concerns about water pollution and the resulting methaemoglobinemia and hypoxia. It has also raised concerns about the warming of the greenhouse effect and the alteration of the global nitrogen cycle, and thus of primary production and vegetation diversity. The use of chemical fertilisers is always a necessity, however, for the chemical form that these fertilisers have, they are also biocidal agents, killing certain elements in the soil, such as micro-organisms, which could transform them into elements immediately absorbable by crops. The destruction of these beneficial micro-organisms also creates the conditions for pathogens to develop in the soil, thus increasing the need for polluting plant protection products. All this has a direct impact on productivity and quality, as the entire crop food chain can be affected. Bioma has developed new, completely natural solutions, to be used once a year at the beginning of the agricultural season, which allow the soil microbiology to develop rapidly, within a few weeks, and immediately transform and provide nutritional elements to the crops. The solutions have been shown in several studies to reduce chemical fertilizers by at least 50% while increasing the quality and quantity of production. The theory behind the solution is that when there is a balanced microbiology in the soil that transforms the elements, then 50% of the fertilizer doses are sufficient.
