Submit your Efficient Solution

The application process comprises several steps, and the length depends on the level and quality of information you have available at hand. To successfully complete the application process the applicant must:

• Become a member of the World Alliance, by creating the account and completing the company profile here (5 min) & Read the Submission Rules and Conditions text and sign the Agreement (5 min);

• Click on “Create a Solution” and fill in the first part of the Solution Submission form via the online platform (20-40 minutes) and submit it.

• Our team then comes back to you with the outcome of your Submission: if your Solution is validated, it will already be displayed on the Solution Explorer as a Featured Solution, and you will be able to advance to the labeling process.

• Fill the second part of the Solution Submission Form, by going to your “Solution Manager” in your Dashboard, and selecting your Featured Solution. This part of the submission form requires more detailed information than the first part and is expected to be filed in a few hours (depending on the availability of the specific information within your organization).

• Obtain validation after “pre-screening” performed by the Solar Impulse Foundation’s team (3-7 days).

• Modify or improve the quality of the application based on the feedback received.

Following the success of the application process, the Solution is then assigned to three independent Experts based on their expertise (online profile completed at registration) as well as the areas of application, sectors, and tags selected by the Member when submitting the Solution online. The speed of this process is dependent on many factors including Expert's availability, range of expertise available at the time, requirements for additional information/communication (chatbox) - overall ranging from 4-8 weeks.  As a result, we expect the whole process to last a maximum of 14 weeks.

The Solar Impulse Foundation will maximize visibility for the Labeled Solutions by creating various forms of content (such as articles, interviews, videos, and photos) and sharing success stories of Labeled Solutions implementation and fundraising across SIF’s social media channels. Additionally, the Foundation will facilitate matchmaking opportunities between Labeled Solutions and potential adopters (including SIF partners, government officials, corporates, and city officials). As a Labeled Solution, your ongoing fundraising efforts will be shared with SIF’s investor community and highlighted on the RUNWay platform to facilitate introductions with investors. The rigorous development of stringent selection criteria resulted in the Solar Impulse Label being today internationally recognized and endorsed by a number of institutions, states and cities around the world (e.g. EC, UN, UNESCO, WEF).  Moreover the Solar Impulse - Efficient Solutions Label is:

• Based on Charters drafted in accordance with the United Nations Global Compact and its principles;
• Audited by External party (EY) in accordance with with ISAE 3000;
• Recognised by the European Commission;
• Endorsed by industry Experts;
• Endorsed by Partners ;
• Adopted across industry;
• Recognised by authorities and influencers.

The key documents of the labeling process includes:

• Solution Submission Form (SSF) - The application file completed by the Innovator at submission;
• Solution Assessment Form (SAF)-The evaluation  file completed by the three independent Experts;
• Assessment Summary Report (ASR) - The  final report shared with both innovators and Experts;
• Solution Page - A technical explanation of the labeled Solution published on the Solar Impulse Foundation website;
• Label certificate (for labeled Solutions only) - The Certificate provided to the innovator after the Solution is labeled;
• Label Use Guidelines (for labeled Solutions only) - The graphical guidelines on how to use the label for communication purposes;

By becoming a Featured Solution, Solutions gain visibility primarily through display on the Solutions Explorer. This visibility opportunity encompasses Solution visuals, descriptions, benefits, and potentially, a case study highlighting the tangible impact of the Solution. Moreover, Featured Solutions may be considered for relevant calls for solutions from our network of partners or external collaborations. It's important to note that although Featured Solutions receive opportunities from our network, it does not imply third-party accreditation. Once you complete and submit the first part of the SSF online, our team will review the information you have provided to ensure that your Solution is eligible and to decide whether it should be featured on the Solar Impulse Solution Explorer. You should receive an outcome a few days after your submission.

Once you complete and submit the SSF online (inlcluding the second part of the SSF), our Technical Team will review the information you have provided to ensure minimum standard of quality and eligibility scope are satisfied (pre-screening). The Technical Team will eventually come back to you if clarifications, modifications. or sentence/paragraph rewrites are needed, you will have 14 days to make these edits to your SSF online.

If your application is validated, it will be sent to the three external, independent Experts for evaluation; at this stage is no longer possible for you to modify or re-submit your dossier.
