The technical operation of aquatic centres encompasses important technical and economic issues. The municipal swimming pool is the most energy-consuming building in a local community. To tackle this challenge, ELENA Piscines developed an HVAC solution for swimming pools with immediate and significant gains, thanks to the installation of a controller, compatible with the existing Air Handling Unit (AHU) and a few sensors placed in the pool hall (temperature, hygrometry, condensation). The principle is simple: The right amount of fresh air at the right time to guarantee excellent air quality (chloramine-free), optimal hygrothermal comfort, preservation of the equipment and building (humidity control), reduction of energy consumption due to air treatment (reduction of the electrical power of the air fans).

  • 34 tons of CO2 avoided per year per installation in average
  • A precise REX measures an average saving per site of 180 MWh of electricity/year and 100 MWh of thermal energy/year
