RatedPower offers pvDesign, a cloud-based global SaaS that optimizes and shortens the design and engineering process of utility-scale PV plants from an average time of 4-6 weeks to seconds. The customers use pvDesign by simply uploading the project’s location, selecting the main equipment and criteria (topography, civil, electrical, meteorological, etc.) and download all the engineering documentation required for a given project. pvDesign, by using heuristic functions, finds the smartest site configuration in terms of cost and efficiency, often not so obvious for an engineer, enabling comparisons to secure the selection of the optimum one. They are able to better manage their resources, better understand the whole project environment and getting more accurate and optimized results. By using pvDesign clients saw a decrease of 5% in the LCOE of their plants, which translates to a 20% higher solar plant profitability.

The Environmental Benefits

  • pvDesign brings value to developers, IPPs, contractors, investors, and manufacturers, helping them make better decisions
  • If only 1 of every 200 projects studied by pvDesign was annually installed, the energy generated would be 10800 GWh, equivalent to the electricity consumption of 3 million houses
  • Up to +1000GW in +100 countries simulated by pvDesign's clients

The Financial Benefits

  • Decrease of 5% in the LCOE of their plants, which translates to a 20% higher solar plant profitability
