Virgin cement production is responsible for 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions. There is a 1:1 relationship between tonnes of cement and tonnes of CO2. The demand for cement in the next 50 years is staggering and estimated to exceed 4 billion tonnes annually by 2050. The shift towards Net Zero 2050 carbon mandates in infrastructure requires new thinking on the role of Supplementary Cementitious Materials (SCMs). SonoAsh Engineered Materiels’ patented, low-frequency sound separation technology processes waste coal ash into decarbonized SCM building products.
