Identification

The solution address the issue of underwater noise created by maritime works. Underwater noises have been the subject of numerous scientific publications over the last 25 years and are recognised as one of the worst maritime pollution. Human activities produce huge noise in the environment. These noises propagate almost without attenuation. That’s why marine animals perceive accumulated noises up to several thousand kilometers around them. Pile driving during maritime works, creates one of the most intense noises, up to 260dB! This level is responsible for major impacts up to the death of individuals. Thus, protecting the ecosystem from these noises is vital for all species and finally for mankind. To address this issue, we have developed our SubSea Quieter. This innovative membrane is a 3D fabric with a coating providing resistance and waterproofness… Once it is inflated, the break in impedance between the water and the introduced air dramatically attenuates sounds up to 99%.
