About

Since 2002, Hortau has been a leader in the irrigation management systems industry. Hortau developed and marketed one of the first irrigation management tools on the web, allowing producers - no longer to leave irrigation management to chance. Founded in 2002 by two entrepreneurs passionate about agriculture, Dr. Jean Caron, an agronomist with a doctorate in soil physics and Jocelyn Boudreau, an agricultural engineer with a master's degree in soil physics, the company Hortau organizes regular conferences and training courses on irrigation management in order to allow its customers to optimize the use of water and get the best from their crops. Hortau is headquartered in Lévis, Quebec (Canada) and San Luis Obispo, California (United States), and has offices, representatives, and technicians across North America. Equipped with sensors for measuring soil tension to determine the precise amount of water that must be sent to plants, Hortau's patented system helps producers of countless types of crops to improve the health of their plants, to obtain higher yields and lower costs associated with irrigation.
