Prêt à Voter at the French Parliament

Written by Alessandro Gaillard 2 min read

Bertrand Piccard, on behalf of the Solar Impulse Foundation, delivered yesterday the 50 "Prêt à Voter" recommendations to the National Assembly and the Senate in Paris.

The book, with 50 recommendations intended for newly elected French MPs and Senators that want to modernize the current regulations in France, was finalized this month and delivered to the French parliament as promised in June 2022.

The success of the ecological transition today no longer depends on the continuous development of new technological solutions, but rather on creating the conditions to implement these solutions and enjoy all the benefits that come with them.

With the "Ready to Vote" initiative, Bertrand Piccard and the Solar Impulse Foundation are adopting an original approach that consists of using existing technologies to guide legislation. The Foundation has selected 50 solutions, mostly French and rooted locally, from its portfolio of 1,400 certified solutions, and has translated them into 50 recommendations.

Their implementation requires the modernization of a legal framework that is still too often archaic, allowing major polluters to waste energy and natural resources, to produce as much waste and to emit as much CO2.

After the 1000 solutions, this initiative is a natural extension of the Foundation's mission and marks the logical continuation of this journey, by showing that these solutions are at the service of political decision-makers, by reconciling innovation and legislation. To save time for the planet, let's save time for politicians!

"My vision of the ecological transition is peaceful and unifying, but it is still a revolution to be led" Bertrand Piccard
